This newly developed rear derailleur is about 30% lighter than common derailleurs. Due to the inherent stiffness of the carbon fibres shifting precision is still impeccable, setting new standards for road racing. Aside from low weight, the main priorities for the R&D team at Lightweight were reliability and durability. All screws are set in solid thread inserts made from specially hardened aluminum; the threads were not cut into the carbon fibres. Lightweight Rear Tubular Disc DT Wheel: Lightweight's proven classic, which combines a very low weight of only 820g (1.81 lbs) with excellent stiffness, using their Sandwich Construction design, and the all-carbon rim with a lightweight foam core. All rotating forces originate at the hub and have to be transmitted to the tyre. The lateral forces originate at the contact patch of the tyre and must be transferred to the hub.
