This newly developed rear derailleur is about 30% lighter than common derailleurs. Due to the inherent stiffness of the carbon fibres shifting precision is still impeccable, setting new standards for road racing. Lightweight Rear Tubular Disc Dt Wheel Cycling Lightweight Buy now. Pay later on Lightweight Rear Tubular Disc DT Wheel. Lightweight Rear Tubular Disc DT Wheel: Lightweight's proven classic, which combines a very low weight of only 820g (1.81 lbs) with excellent stiffness, using their Sandwich Construction design, and the all-carbon rim with a lightweight foam core. Further Information: Lightweight disc wheels are unique in that they are the only wheels in which the carbon fibres are oriented perfectly in the direction of the forces to be transmitted. All rotating forces originate at the hub and have to be transmitted to the tyre. The lateral forces originate at the contact patch of the tyre and must be transferred to the hub. Carbon fibres can only transfer forces if they are positioned in the direction of the load, as they can only transmit pulling forces. In this regard they behave like ordinary wire spokes. Lightweight discs are designed like spoked wheels: Many carbon fibre threads connect the hub to the rim.
