The route has a number of leg warming hills and exciting descents on the Downs based between the Amberley, Arundel & Stenying. This all year around route, follows some awesome bridleways and the classic South Downs way itself. With 2 ride lengths of 36 mile and 27 mile, you can choose how much fun you can handle... So start your 2011 season on a high and get out and ride. 'You judge!' 'The Long One' is no ordinary sportive; this 'Super Sportive' which is longer than normal taking place on the weekend of the longest day of the year. The 207km (129 mile) sportive with 3669 metres of climbing is not for the faint hearted. This 3 part sportive starts from the iconic New Forest National Park, then jumps onto the ferry taking you to the Isle of Wight to continue your cycling trip. Price includes return ferry to and from Isle of Wight. The route sweeps south through the forest through picturesque villages with wild animals grazing at the roadside before arriving at Lymington where your timing will stop. You will board the next ferry, cross the Solent and arrive on the Isle of Wight. Your time will start again as you continue the 2nd part of your sportive around the sensational Isle of Wight. Experience the tranquillity and exhilaration of riding with a group of like minded riders on quite roads in Cambridgeshire and Leicestershire at night. This well designed stunning course will do a figure of '8' around spectacular Graftham Water and Rutland Water, taking in the best, most peaceful roads on the way. Starting close to the easy to access Devils Punch Bowl and from which the sportive gets it name. The course weaves through the scenic roads between the North and South Downs, looping around the stunning Devils Punch Bowl before heading up to the challenging North Downs briefly and then returns South to Hollycombe Steam Collection, which is the event Head Quarters. This Sportive has been designed to be slightly shorter than our normal sportives to reflect the time of year. But is still quite a challenge, as the course includes a couple of awesome hills to get the legs pumping and amazing descents to get the heart racing. Taking in the best of the varied landscape of Hampshire, Surrey and the North Downs. Although there are a couple of hills, everything is rideable. The Wiggle Super Series brings you something truly special, a new concept in sportive riding... the night time Sportive! Experience the tranquillity and exhilaration of riding with a group of like minded riders on quite roads in Cambridgeshire and Leicestershire at night. This well designed stunning course will do a figure of '8' around spectacular Graftham Water and Rutland Water, taking in the best, most peaceful roads on the way. In addition to the Epic 100 mile route, there is a Standard 70 mile route, allowing riders to choose their own challenge. So how will you know which way to go? The course will be extremely well marked with clear reflective signs. So your bike lights will light up the signs like Blackpool illuminations. What will you need? The obviously, a good set of lights with a decent burn time and some bright / reflective clothing. Except for that, what you would need for a normal sportive, food/ drink, spare tubes, pump etc. Note: all riders must have a bright rear light (Red).
